What to expect

Learn how to respond in an emergency

The PADI Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course teaches you what to do in the critical moments between an emergency happening and professional medical help arriving. During the course, you learn how to stay calm, take action, and provide immediate care when it matters most.

Primary Care (CPR) training

You will practice the essential steps for responding to life-threatening emergencies, including CPR and other key response skills. The training is designed to help you build confidence through clear guidance and hands-on practice.

Secondary Care (First Aid) training

You will also learn how to respond to injuries and illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. This includes assessing a situation, providing first aid that eases pain, and understanding how to support someone until further help is available.

Hands-on practice in realistic scenarios

A key part of the course is practical training. You will practice important emergency care skills in realistic scenarios, including injury and illness assessment as well as bandaging and splinting, so you feel more prepared to help in a real situation.

Classroom-based training at our dive center

This course is usually conducted in the classroom at our dive center in El Gouna and is typically completed in half a day.

After the course

At the end of the training, you will receive your PADI Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care eCard. This certification also meets the First Aid/CPR course requirement for PADI Rescue Diver and PADI Divemaster.
